Planted in His House, Part 1

The Rock of Central Florida   -

Psalms 92:12-15 (ESV) 12 The righteous flourish like the palm tree

and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

13 They are planted in the house of the LORD;

they flourish in the courts of our God.

14 They still bear fruit in old age;

they are ever full of sap and green,

15 to declare that the LORD is upright;

he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

We are called to be planted in the house of Yahweh.  In Psalms 92, He describes the reason to be planted and the fruit it will produce.  Unfortunately, people will too often dismiss this principle of planting themselves in a local church body (house of the LORD).  Different excuses creep in and distract them from this key principle of the Kingdom. For example, I had such a busy week, and I need a day off; I can watch online, and it is the same as being in person; God knows my heart, and I do not have to go; I don’t fit in; all the church wants is my money, and the list goes on.  These reasons will not only rob from you, but they will rob the body of Christ of your anointing and ministry.  You are an essential part of His Kingdom, and God wants to activate your call.

This in no way is judgment or condemnation, but an opportunity to be edified to embrace a vital aspect of being a disciple of Christ and a child of the Living God.

We must understand that we are either planted in “the house of Yahweh” or we are planted somewhere else.  Yahweh uses this analogy of “being planted” to help us understand that we choose where we set ourselves and where we permit our roots to dig in.  Where you are planted is where your roots draw from. Consider, if one is planted in materialism, pride, selfishness, or other worldly falsehoods what happens to the roots and to the one planted there?  However, the one planted in the Living Water, in Truth, in Grace and in Life will have a different outcome!

So, as you start your day consider where you are planted?  What are you allowing your roots to be invested in?  Are you choosing the fertile soil (church body) He is providing or is it something else?  Be challenged today to get planted in His House, to be an active part and let your roots go deep!
