Slow to Anger

The Rock of Central Florida   -

“Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly.” Proverbs 14:29

Recently, I have noticed that I have been losing my temper more often and letting my emotions get the best of me. Now, I will admit that this doesn’t add to any situation and certainly doesn’t make things any better. In fact, I believe that when I let my emotions escalate beyond what is reasonable, it invites calamity.

The world is ruled by their emotions, and people are constantly making decisions based on how they feel instead of what is right. This is particularly true when someone is angry. That person can find it easy to justify their own actions, because a situation or person made them “mad enough.”

“Yahweh, help us to be slow to anger! Help us to pause and carefully consider before we respond. We don’t invite calamity, we invite peace, strength, and self control. We love you Yahweh and will be your ambassadors in the earth!”

Amen
