Your Yes

"Let your word be ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no.’ More than this is from the evil one." Matthew 5:37
Do you really get over-excited about saying, “yes,” when asked to do a new task? Do you even consider all of the time it will take and the discipline it will require for you to do it with excellence and consistency? You are not alone. It happens to all of us. We can have a strenuous job, family that needs our attention and help, be in full-time ministry and still say, “yes” to adding one more thing to the long list of our responsibilities. But saying, “yes” is a choice! That task sometimes takes a back seat when new responsibilities and opportunities arise. None of this changes the fact that we said, “yes." The Father knows our heart, but He also listens carefully when we respond to His call. So, when we don’t take our own, "yes” seriously, should we expect that He would? The loving Father we serve is giving us small opportunities, that require minimal management but yield great joy in His heart. So, today, if there is a calling that maybe you put in the back burner, or a task that can truly change the Kingdom, do your part. It’s never to late to pick up where you left off. Let your “Yes” be “Yes” and your “No” be “No”.
