Power of the Tongue
Proverbs 15:4 The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.
Did you know that the power of LIFE and DEATH are in your tongue? It’s in your Bible! Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” Yahweh trusts sons with His word, both written and spoken. What an opportunity! We have heard it all our life,” Watch your mouth.” Today, that little phrase is resonating in my spirit. Do we acknowledge the words we release to others, or do we speak flippantly out of the emotion of the moment? It seems when life begins to squeeze us most, the abundance of the heart flows freely. Pay attention to that today. To whom has the Father assigned to you? What pathways to LIFE are you being given the opportunity to create? It starts with one word spoken. I encourage you to be intentional with your tongue today. Proverbs 12:18, “There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings life.” Let us allow wisdom to flow in this land we have been given. By guarding the gate of our mouths, we will heal our land!
