Stepping Into The Unknown
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. Hebrews 11:1-3
When life is comfortable and predictable and a shaking has taken place, that is when we are called to step into faith knowing that something better and more abundant is coming. From the biggest of situations to the smallest, we are not required to understand what is going on around us, but we are required to step out in faith and to simply step into the obedience He has asked of us knowing that Yahweh has it all in control.
Whether it is a door closing or a new one opening, or even waiting for a new door to open, it takes faith to believe that Yahweh has a plan. Yes, it is definitely a journey, and no one ever said it was going to be easy. However, walking through the unknown can be uncomfortable and stretching, but when you choose to step out in faith and have the correct response is when you will see the miraculous happen. He wants us to grow in our faith as stagnation is actually going backwards. The best things in life, both the natural and spiritual, are always going to require something from you. We see this in plants. They have faith that as they grow, they move towards the most abundant sources of light trusting Yahweh will provide the light they need to grow.
When we step into faith, we are moving even before knowing the outcome. Think of it as a leap, sometimes literally and sometimes metaphorically. Either way, we are proclaiming that, “Yes, I trust in You Yahweh!” We are choosing to make the choice to obey before anything is ever guaranteed to us. Finally, we are trusting in the power of Yahweh knowing that He has nothing but the best intentions for us.
