He Will Show You The Door

The Rock of Central Florida   -

I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. John 10: 9-10

I’m sure that you have heard the pseudo-christian phrase: “When God closes a door, He opens up a window”. These words are not found in scripture, but many believers like the way it sounds and feels, so they “hang their hat” on this problematic little saying. First, let’s look  at John 10 verse 9 for a moment. The door is Christ, and the only way in and out of a situation or event for believers is through Him. Looking further in this scripture, we see there is a thief. A thief finds the easiest way to break in, and that most vulnerable place on any structure is a window. So, you have Christ opening and closing doors in our lives, but He never uses a window, because that is an illegal entry and exit. There is proper protocol when it comes to moving in and out with Christ.
Yahweh would never require His sons to use any window to come and go. If He closes a door, don’t look for the window(it’s not your access point), find the next door. If there is no door at the moment then stay where you are until it is revealed by your Father for you to go through. You might see a lot of windows first, but don’t be deceived by them or what you can view through them. We are not to be moved by sight, but by faith. The door is more difficult because we can’t see beyond it or even through it. Today, let the Father open and close doors for you and stay off the window ledges, so you won’t be tempted by the “beauty” that you see through the pane.
